Twitter Vulnerability Could Let Hackers Take Over Your Smartphone

Twitter privacy blog, Twitter recently advertised an announcement cum apology for a critical vulnerability that the platform found in its android application.

The platform on social media has always been very fast at fixing privacy problems.

Actually, the same time was no different, the vulnerability has been tackled before the recent post was advertised.

According to Twitter, the same vulnerability allowed hackers to take control of the Twitter account by inserting malicious code into the restricted storage place of Mobile’s app.

The process is fancy but is not impossible and Twitter doesn’t know if any individual took advantage of the vulnerability.

Although, Twitter has recently taken the steps to resolve the vulnerability and has sent the potential victims a notification either through the app and registered email addresses that have given to the Twitter account.

However, the notification includes a set of instructions that vary from Twitter user to user based on the version of Android and the version of the app they have installed on their Smartphone.

Suppose if you are an android user yet you have not received any notification then you are probably safe from hackers.

Or you still wish to take precautions; I will probably recommend you to update your app to the latest version of Twitter on Play store.

According to Twitter, they are safe since the vulnerability has not affected Twitter for iOS.

“We’re sorry this happened and will keep working to keep your information secure on Twitter.”
