History
The university was established and charted in early 1925. The main reason for starting this university was to provide an international standard study for the young and growing community.
They also felt while creating this institute to offer unique opportunities for developing inter-American studies.
The first class was started in the fall of 1926, and there were around 645 students enrolled as full-time at the University of Miami.
The university faced land boom issues for the next 15 years after their occurrence. But, they survived primarily because of the first Dr. Bowman F. Ashe president of the university vision and persistence.
According to the university,
Dr. Pearson presided during a decade of unprecedented growth. Total enrollment stood at over 10,000 in 1953 and increased to nearly 14,000 by the end of the Pearson presidency in 1962.
